Topic: SD4: is a wobble normal?

greetings,

So I just received my SD4 yesterday and first thing I noticed when putting it on my table is that it wobbles like a table with uneven legs. All the rubber squares on the bottom are there and dont seem to be worn or anything. but one hovers over the table about 2mm. I tried it on different table surfaces in case it was the table, but wasnt.

So is this normal? do I tackle this like a table and just put some paper under the short leg?

Re: SD4: is a wobble normal?

Quite probably fine - once you're up and running, the mechanism is surprisingly tolerant of a wee bit of misalignment, even if it got a touch twisted in transit for example. I wouldn't worry about it unless you see some other symptoms (e.g. skipping axes, can't level the bed, etc.).

Pop some paper under there and see how you go! smile Happy printing!

Re: SD4: is a wobble normal?

I would tweak it square on a known flat surface.  You should be able to just push down on it.  If it doesn't stay flat add something to one of the feet that is already touching and push again till it will sit flat.  Grob is correct though it really shouldn't hurt anything but those frames can easily be tweaked straight.

Re: SD4: is a wobble normal?

Ahhh thank you! I was wondering if it would effect it. But I went ahead and printed and came out great. not perfect, but still learning different settings.
Thanks again!
