Topic: Speed settings for an E3D

Didn't really know where to post this but I think this will be okay. I was just wondering what speed settings everyone is using who has an E3D hotend. I am using the .4mm nozzle v6. I haven't changed my speed settings since I put the new extruder on. I was going to try to increase the speeds and see how it goes but figured I would ask people what has worked for them so far.

Re: Speed settings for an E3D

People run some pretty intense speeds on an E3D without it being a problem, but the max linear speed it can extrude at will also depend on layer height, wall width, material, extrusion temp. You'll have to ask someone speedier than me about all that!

You're likely more limited by mechanical issues (rigidity, motors topping out and skipping). Make sure the thing is well bolted in, it's going to get shaken around some! smile

I say jack it up till something breaks wink this makes for the perfect excuse to do your next mod.
Just remember with speed you need to increase temp to maintain flow.
