Topic: sd3 repetier "the port 'com3' does not exist"

Ok this is on windows 7. I have been using my SD3 for the past year with no issue nothing new was recently installed but when I went to print to day I get this message  "the port 'com3' does not exist"
com 3 is not listed in my device manager or in my MB bios. I tried to add hardware in windows and when I try  to add a com3 it stated that it is in use (still not listed in device manager though) Could this be a issue with my computers Mother board?

I had this issue the other day, but mine was simply because I had unplugged my usb cable.  When I remembered that the cable was unplugged, I plugged it up, but the software didn't recognize that I had it plugged up.  I had to exit the software and restart it before com would work again.
