Topic: Rippling Effect on one side?

Any suggestions on the rippling?  I finally have just got my printer working again after installing my new E3D extruder (Which is WONDERFUL by the way!

Re: Rippling Effect on one side?

Looks like you might be over extruding but it also looks like it is just on the front of the prints.  Is there a chance your nozzle isn't straight?  (perpendicular to the bed)

Definitely looks like a tilted nozzle/printhead.

Re: Rippling Effect on one side?

I think that looks like uneven microstepping as well...  you can see it on the outside for sure

Are you using the stock carriage that came with the printer?  If so, it will push out the E3D at a very slight angle.

+1 for possible microstepping issues.  Check stepper driver voltages on the vref pins and compare to Solidoodle website documentation on how to adjust them.

Re: Rippling Effect on one side?

Vref was it! I adjusted the vref up a wee bit and not the extruder runs MUCH smoother without the mentioned "pulsing" noise, and the lines are sharp as a razor blade!  Thank you gentlemen!
