Topic: Extruder Fan, no Voltage after firmware update

Hey there.  So after my thermistor went out on the stock SD3 extruder I went ahead and decided to get the E3D...  works great.  I have had it about a week and now I have moved to printing Laywood, which prints great under a fan.

Long story short:

I hooked up my extruder fan to the pins I soldered in place... it worked before the firmware update and now it does nothing.  There is no voltage coming from the motherboard fan board pins when checked with multimeter... the fan works fine under other power.

Everything else works fine.

(only posted after scouring forum, I figure I am missing something obvious)

Any ideas?

my guess is you messed it up while soldering the fan on the board.

Re: Extruder Fan, no Voltage after firmware update

could you post a copy of the exact firmware you uploaded?

Thank you for your reply.

The fan worked perfectly before the firmware update.  I have done no hardware modifications to the board, only upgrading the firmware.  So I am not convinced that I messed it up.  Are there any other ways to test this idea?

that's why I wanted to see the FW to make sure the pins.h and config files don't have a wrong setting in them.

Thanks ronsii, my previous post was for MolecularConcept

I got the firmware from this link:

this firmware worked.  Everything seems to be in order now.
