Topic: Tim to upgrade hot end?

I had a bit of a problem with my nozzle today.  I was upgrading to Lawsy's extruder design but broke my nozzle:

I can get the new barel and nozzle for $15 here:

But I'm wondering, while I have everything apart is this is a good time to upgrade?  This thread looked interesting but there have been no updates in a while:

SD3, E3D hotend,linear bearing on x/y axis',pillow block bearing on y conneting rod, ball bearngs on front y axis, fan on y stepper motor.

Nice,  but expensive.  Is anyone using it?

At this point I would say it is safe to say many of us are using it and are extremely happy.

I had no idea how much nicer things would be with an E3D!  It is well worth the money.  One thing to keep in mind is that it is best to use an upgraded power supply with it.

yep from TIM,  mk4 in use now and a spare.

SD3, E3D hotend,linear bearing on x/y axis',pillow block bearing on y conneting rod, ball bearngs on front y axis, fan on y stepper motor.
