Topic: Solidoodle software issues?
Hello!
Two days ago I was surprised by a UPS delivery of a Solidoodle 2nd gen pro. I installed the software on my newish HP laptop (Windows 8.1, intel core i7, 8 gig ram, etc) and am having issues running the software. First thing I noticed, in an effort to get the test "Spool mount.stl" to stick to the heated bed, I bumped up the temperature to 115 deg. But after the first layer, it gets changed back to the default 105 deg. I'm not sure if this is related to the major problem, though. After about 4 to 8 minutes, the x, y, and z motors stop moving, but the display seems to show as if they were moving. I can pause the print, or cancel the print, and I can then home all the axis, but I can't jog any of the axis. What I've done to get around this and try again is "disconnect" and then unplug the USB cable. Re-plug in the cable, and re-connect to the Solidoodle. I've tried all sorts of variations of re-booting my laptop, cycling the power on the Solidoodle, restarting the program, but the disconnect button and pulling the USB cable seems to be the minimum I need to do. The only time I was able to get it to run for say more than 15 minutes, the part came unstuck after about 6 minutes.... so I gave up after that.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
