Topic: Extruder heat core

Does anyone know if the ceramic paste on the extruder heat core is vital to its operation. I was taking out the hot end and barrel to clean it out and chipped the ceramic paste off of the aluminium heat core? Also does anyone know why it is called so I can buy some I repair it if it needs it. Hopefully I will be able to post a pic of it, when I tried to post a different picture it wouldn't work.

Cheers phil

Re: Extruder heat core

You shouldn't have to worry about it.  You can buy fire cement at most home improvement places and it's basically the same thing.

You need something like five posts before you can load pictures.  You picture shows up so you must have done something right.
