Re: Solidoodle 3 fixed problems and current problems. HELP?!
Thanks. I designed something in Sketchup, I export it as an .stl it shows up fine in R-H but once I slice it with Slic3r the words disappear. any ideas???

netfabb is your friend.

Are you saying you designed something with raised text and Slic3r removes it?
I would agree with Hazer Netfabb is pretty easy to use and it will fix a lot of issues quickly.
When you slice it does it give you an error that says "object not manifold"?
no the only thing it says is that it has overlapping facets. and that it tried to correct it. I ran it through netfabb and they said it didn't work
Send me the STL and I'll take a look. I'll PM you my regular email
alright i just did
Nothing on this end yet. You sure you got the address right?
It couldn't send. But another problem has arisen. a small piece of filament is stuck between the two cylinders that pull the filament down and the hot end. but its visible through the acrylic. what should I do??.. I cannot print and the printer makes a weird noise when trying to extrude
Can you retract? If not you are going to carefully take the acrylic apart. Then it will break and I'll send you the MK-5 that you haven't printed yet. ![]()
it will not retract but actually i printed it all out last week. I started unscrewing the bolts and but there is 4 that i cannot unscrew. so far the acrylic has not cracked though

Don't worry it will crack eventually probably when you go to put it all back together.
Alright now there's 4 screws that I cannot unscrew how do I go about removing them
Which four screw the ones that go into the motor or the ones with nuts on them?
The nuts. I cannot hold the nut to turn the bolt
And this is where the acrylic cracks. Use a small flat screwdriver to keep the nut from turning by gently wedging it in between the nut and the acrylic.
And you where spot on. I still am unable to remove the nut because there's not enough space to fit a small wrench.
Those just suck!!! PM me your address I have an MK-5 that I'll just send you.
And here's why it wouldn't print
This is what you will end up with.
Alright So I received my E3D Hotend. After wiring everything up I went to follow http://www.soliwiki.com/E3D_extruder and when I got to the Firmware Update Section and It says I have the Newer version and the instructions aren't meant for that
Hello again. How do I update R-H to print at 240* C

The maximum temperature is set in the printer's firmware. Unfortunately that is a big more complex than changing an option in a menu. Check out the wiki here http://www.soliwiki.com/E3D_extruder and scroll to the firmware section. All you will need to change is the maximum temperature, not any of the other stuff. Keep in mind that the stock nozzle will melt itself at a temperature that high, so you will probably want an e3d for that.
already got an E3d thanks, but so I'm at the point where i upload it in Arduino and it saying error uploading
Try using the reset button as described on the wiki, and if that doesn't work, I'd try unplugging the printer from power as well as the usb so it fully turns off. Then try again. I imagine there are many threads out there with this issue. Just Google "unable to upload firmware (sanguinololu or printrboard)". Let me know how it turns out!
