Topic: Prints for a while, then extruder can't extrude.

Had no problems until now, today, suddenly the print starts off doing fine, and then half way through the gears are trying to push the filament through and can't.. I tried following the nozzle removal guide by the solidoodle technician and apparently he has a totally different machine than I do. I can't remove the nozzle because when I try to turn it the whole shaft moves (yes I followed the directions as given), and there's nothing I can do about it. I've tried sticking a guitar string through, I've tried different filament, and even different models. I dont even know if it's a clog.. All I know is half way through the print it starts to have a problem feeding every time.

can you post up some pics of your extruder and if possible pictures of it extruding, this will help us see exactly which setup you have and also might be able to spot other problems.

I took the extruder apart, looked though everything except the nozzle, because on my unit, it is LITERALLY impossible to remove... I suspect there is a clog in the nozzle area as there is no clog anywhere else. The same thing happened again tonight, I tried to print, filament came out for a little while, then suddenly it stopped and now all I have is a jamming issue. I've tried messing with the gear nut, taken the thing completely apart and searched for clogs, the only suspicious thin is the nozzle/barrel. But I can't get the damn nozzle off without stripping the barrel to death. So I'm fucked.

have you tried putting a small wire (guitar E string sized) up through the bottom of the extruder while it's hot? and or soaking the nozzle in solvent(acetone) or anything else that eats ABS, you can use a little heat with this method but don't do it at full temp.

The barrel was clogged, turned my oven to 220 and melted the abs out. Thanks Ronsii.
