Topic: Solidoodle 3 Extruder wont move
Just tried to print, and the extruder will only move up/down along the side of the printbed instead of on it. I cant even manually move it side to side. How do I get it unstuck?

its probably stuck moving because the motors are engaged.
unplug everything and see if the head moves (gently)
I cant really help why its not moving programatically.

Could be that the axes aren't homed.
Could be a bad slice. Does RH show the model on the print bed floor?

Our RH hasn't shown the model being printed on the view in months, but this is the first time the extruder has ever done this. I will have to check the axes, and any other options people suggest might be causing it to do this

How about if you load the STL file rather than GCode. Can you see it on the grid there?

Grinding was the motor. Hubby came home and found that the extruder was stuck to one side due to.......... little to much hair spray on the rails. So a good cleaning and grease. Works well.
