Topic: Getting Solidoodle 3 to work on windows.

I have successfully printed many times with my Mac. However, I cannot for the life of me get the Solidoodle drivers to work on windows. I get an unknown device that shows up in device manager but no USB serial. I've gone through the steps in the wiki article a few times. I'm at a loss.

I'm running windows 7 64 bit. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so what they did to fix it?

Have you installed the drivers?

Make sure you install the drivers BEFORE you have the printer plugged in(USB) also you may need to turn off driver signing checks in windows config.

Yes I have. I've removed them and re-installed them as well.

I may have had the printer plugged in. I'll try again without.

Edit: I just disabled driver signing checks and re-installed the drivers while the printer is unplugged. I'm still seeing an unknown device in device manager.

Did you restart the computer after you turned driver signing off? This should take care of it smile hopefully... windows get pretty finicky if the slightest bit of info is slightly not right, I am not near a win computer with SD drivers on it so I won't be able to check on anything else...

Yeah I tried restarting after turning driver signing off. It doesn't seem to have changed anything.

I did however get it to recognize the printer(and control it) under the Arduino USB Serial Light Adapter drivers??? Not sure what to Make if this, But it works...

Edit: I was very nervous to print with these drivers but I gave it a shot anyways. It seems to be working great. I'm half-way through a test print now with no issues.
