Topic: X-axis stepper motor getting very hot

The x- axis stepper motor getting really hot. It aldo happend when in idle. Is this normal? If not, what could be the problem? I can't keep my fingers on it for more then 3-4 seconds.

Its overdriven from the factory.

Steppers consume the same amount of power whether running or idle.

Thanks. What fan do you recomend? Where do i hook it up?

40mm fan of almost any kind.  and you would have to connect it with a splitter to the same connection as the fan on the back of the exturder motor.
