Topic: Setup guide for SD3 with Octoprint and Pi

Hey everyone. I've owned my SD3 for a week. I appreciate all the posts here that have helped me get started so I made a nice write up on how to set up Octoprint on a Raspberry Pi.

I am new to 3D but i love Octoprint and Cura and of course my SD3 printer!

Enjoy

Re: Setup guide for SD3 with Octoprint and Pi

Which wireless ethernet  did you use? The one I'm trying to use won't connect to the network. Do you need to run it from the powered usb hub? Also another quirk, I flashed the sd card, and started up the pi without logging in through pi, I went in through network which works when it's directly connected to the network through an ethernet cable. I can get into octopi is there anything special that needs to be done to make this work properly besides being connected to the printer itself?

You don't even need to have the printer on to boot up Octopi.

You have to run the pi with a monitor and keyboard the first time. Did you do that? Set up the wifi ip address while in there.
