Topic: Plastic sticking to my hot end

I believe I got hairspray all over it before I read that I shouldn't do that. I've been cleaning it with acetone but abs continues to stick to the side and build up and/or ruin the print. Can't even put down a single layer.

If you can't print a single layer I would check the basics.... is your bed level? is the ztab for bed height set properly? and of course is the extrusion calibration spot on?

maybe a clog... how does the abs come out the nozzle? in a nice straight vertical line?

Re: Plastic sticking to my hot end

i always use knife to clean outside of the nozzle tip.. just heat it up and scrap those burned abs off the nozzle. also you should have a long tweezer ready when you heat up your nozzle, it's useful for pinching the leaking plastic

I adjusted the Z offset and that seems to have done the trick. Thanks for everyone's help. I'm still a bit of a noob.
