Anyone add a Gcode controlled extruder fan to an E3D fitted hotend?

I'm using lawsy's mk5, an E3D (with its always-on fan), and am looking to add a Gcode fan.  The mk5 fans I've seen interfere with the E3D fan.

Interested in hear (seeing) how others have tackled this before I try my hand...
