Topic: S3 y-axis groaning
Hi there,
for some reason no matter how much I align the belts i cannot get my y-axis to stop complaining. Part of the problem I'm sure is my back right pulley mount usually refuses to move - it catches and requires a lot of force to get it to unseat. I'm not able to slide it around on the rod, even after greasing it. I try to align it as well as possible, but it's a lot harder to do by eye. I'm wondering if the catching means the rod is bent, which would explain why it's impossible to get the groaning to go away.
if I have a bunch of slack in all the pulleys, the groaning is a lot better, but still noticeable, which brings me to another question: how tight are the pulleys supposed to be? the belt adjustment video he just says 'not too tight,' which is kind of useless. The slack I need to give it to reduce the noise causes inaccuracies in the prints, as well.
