Topic: Bumping Noise

Hello,
I've been trying to get my new Solidoodle 3 printer working for about a week now and just can't crack it.  When moving in the negative y direction (towards the leds) it starts to make this bumping noise.  This causes the print to get all wavy which I believe throws the print off.  This can lead to the printer losing its position on the same layer or shifting the print after going up a layer.

I have a video but it won't let me post the link

Has anyone experienced something like this before, any ideas?

Have you calibrated your belts? This may help: http://wiki.solidoodle.com/belt-adjustment

Re: Bumping Noise

Can you take a pic of the print where the noise starts? if you are overextruding the printhead can start bumping over the previous layer and make noise this can also cause lost steps if there is a lot of overextruding going on.

just mess up the link a little(you tube dot com/123456) so we can still figure it out once you have 10 posts you can post links and pics normally

Re: Bumping Noise

Put some lithium grease on the rods. That fixed my "bumping".

Calibrating the belts worked. Just took a couple of tries.  Thanks for the help.
