Re: Orders Shipping List

I asked if they had any SD4s ready to ship. I would think after 3 yrs they would have learned by now to have  product ready when someone ordered one. They say they even have to assemble a SD4 which takes a few days. You would think they would have plenty of SD4s built by now since a new line was introduced and they needed to move old inventory.

SD3, E3D hotend, linear bearing on x/y axis',pillow block bearing on y conneting rod, ball bearngs on front y axis, fan on y stepper motor.

Re: Orders Shipping List

Historically, they haven't built a lot of finished goods inventory from what I've seen. They build by order. That actually makes a lot of sense for a company like this if they can get away with it. The cost to store components is considerably cheaper than the cost to store a completed product. The completed product has labor and overhead included so the value to store it is higher. it also takes more space to store a finished SD4 that it does to store the components. All of the original designs (SD2, SD3, and SD4) had some components that were interchangeable. If they built a bunch of SD4's up and had requests for SD3's, they may have a part shortage to complete that model. Most of the other small 3D printer companies do the same thing so this is not abnormal for the market.

Re: Orders Shipping List

I only thing I did not like when I saw the e-mail to everyone is that said they had to "Adjust the shipping date because of overwhelming demand?" So what are they shipping them out all at once?

Re: Orders Shipping List

Hi I live in Cape Town South Africa and ordered my Solidoodle SD-3DP-4 though Amazon on the 24 Sep Delivery given between 7 and 22 October. I have tracked the tracking no and at least it indicates it left San Francisco on the 27 Sep. So lets see what happens

Still no shipping or production email at all? Sent a support email yesterday (Friday) night and still no email back today (Saturday). Wondering why mine has not shipped when others +1000 ahead have.

Re: Orders Shipping List

None of the new models (Press or WorkBench) have shipped yet. Per the e-mail they sent to everybody, it will be end of October before they start shipping the new models.

Re: Orders Shipping List

What email? I never got an email saying that. When I contacted them September 20th, they said

We're looking to start shipping out the Press units by the end of the month or early next month at the latest, and since you ordered fairly early, I would expect your unit to ship around this time.

on the 20th of September.

Well then, now I'm confused as to how they prioritize orders as I've not received an email, yet I ordered mine before yours as stated in my previous post. I'm sitting at 19 days going on 20. :'(

And here I am 61 days since ordering my Press. *sigh*

Re: Orders Shipping List

Thanks. No idea why I didn't get that email. hmm I wonder when they learned that because September 20th they said early October at the latest to me. I wonder when they learned there would be a month delay.

I see now that Geekdeal on Ebay is selling the SD4, a bit more than SD. It looks like to me that SD must have built some for resale.

They just don't like you. My parts order last week shipped same day tongue

It helps to threaten them with charge backs.

Some parts are easier to keep supplied than others. I wouldn't be surprised if you are being delayed because your order includes a carriage or hot-end.

Do you still work there or not? If not, it might be time for a username change. The username combined with how you post gives the impression you are still a part of the company.

I'm just saying, they haven't released any new information. I'm also not sure what the point of bumping a sticky is.

The point is I placed an order for basic parts 2 weeks ago.
Pulleys, a couple motors, and shafts are all things that should be readily available.
I COULD have ordered through say Amazon, gotten my parts cheaper and probably twice over by now. But I chose to give Solidoodle my business.

I will issue a chargeback if they have not shipped by end of business Friday.
