Topic: Cheap and effective cover

I admire the attention to detail and ideas of people on this forum but I can't help but feel that sometimes people over-complicate things.

Whilst pulling an all nighter printing parts for a prototype that had to be handed to the client the next day, one print just kept causing me problems. After a quick bit of searching, I realised a cover would help. But I was short of cash, materials, and even shorter on time, so I had to think quickly and use what I had a round me.

The attached image is the result, and I must say, it worked beautifully, and kept the heat in extremely well....

Re: Cheap and effective cover

A picture paints a thousand words, no?

Thats right, bubble wrap! There was a small problem with visibility, so I cut a small hole in the front that I kept taped shut to avoid heat escaping.

I was concerned that the filament could get caught on the top cover, so I taped the top bubble wrap up out of the way.

It worked so well and is so cheap, I think I may 'refine' the design. More photos to follow in the future.

A+ for quick thinking,
I saw a case idea... the poster was talking about using the bag that you cook turkey with to keep heat inside... kinda makes sense because those bags can withstand heat and it's clear.

Got handy with a scalpel, gaffa tape, self adhesive magnetic strips, and some bicycle brake cable to make supports (to raise top of cover). See attached photos...
