Topic: Questions about installing heated bed

My prusa PCB Mk2 heated bed upgrade just arrived, and I have two questions:

The old sd3 bed has 2 pairs of wires going to it, 2 black, 2 red.

Do I solder both red to the + terminal on the PCB, and both black to the - terminal on the PCB?

I just want to be 100% sure before I start cutting wires.

Its very important to me that I can still have the temperature displayed in repetier-host. I assume it measures the resistance to measure the temperature?

The black wires go to the thermistor and the red wires go to the actual heating element.

Re: Questions about installing heated bed

So I installed it, and it heats up fabulously. The thermistor on the other hand, is not working so well. At first the LED came on and Repeteir host showed 3 degrees C. A few days later the LED does not come on and the temp is always recorded around 130C regardless of what temperature I set it to. Additionally it seems like as soon as I plug the power supply in, the bed starts heating up, even when its set to off in RH.

Any ideas? From what I have read, the thermistor shouldnt care if I solder + to - and vs versus. It concerns me that the LED is no longer on.

I want to hook up my new 30A PSU, but I am hesitant to provide it with more power until I can control the temp.

Did you update the thermistor type in configuration.h in the firmware ?

No I wasn't aware of that step.
Thanks!
