Desperate for success, I tried cleaning the bed with Isopropyl Alcohol.

I prefer Acetone 
when the bed is cold

I am a glass cleaner fan for cleaning between acetone cleanings. http://www.invisibleglass.com/ is my flavor of the day.

For removing thing layers of plastic, Acetone is the way to go.
