Topic: Print bed stuck at bottom of unit

I've been using my new Solidoodle 3 for the past few weeks. This evening I clicked the "Y+ 10" button several times. The print bed moved down as expected. But once it hit the bottom of the unit, the motor kept pushing it down! Now, it won't move up! When I click "Y-", I hear the motor humming but the bed won't move! sad

Try disabling the motors (Turn Motors Off in Repetier) and then manually screwing the table up some - it might just be wedged on the hose clamps or something.  Just grab the threaded screw and twist..

Once you've manually moved it a bit, try clicking the Z+ again...

Which screws do I turn in order to raise the print bed?

Re: Print bed stuck at bottom of unit

the big one in the middle of the print platform... there is the two support rails and the big threaded rod that the motor turns. With the motors disabled or the printer turned off, this should be quite simple to twist with your fingers...

As an added thought, you should go to your local hardware store (Harbor Freight if you have one) and buy a tube of lithium grease. Lube the guides rods and the Z lead screw, not so it is caked, but with a nice smear all around with a small (art style) paint brush.

It will help in avoiding friction sticking in the future in case your guide rods aren't perfectly parallel (as mine aren't) and help with wear and tear/load on motors.
