Topic: FilaStruder, temp drops over 30C as soon as motors (and fans) turn on

Hi, this is my first post, was wondering if someone has ever encountered this issue, or know the common solutions to this kind of issue.

I got the Filastruder all wired up, turned on the main switch to get the heating going, and I also auto tuned the PID, and changed the CTRL thing to 2, and it heated up to the desired temp (180C) which was perfect. Then I turned on the Filastruder and after a few minutes a stream of ABS plastic was flowing out, however when I checked the temp, I noticed it started to drop down to 160c's then 150cs and stood around there, and the motor also started to have a harder time pushing the filament.

Has anyone ever encountered this issue?

How long did you wait AFTER it got to 180c before turning on the motor?

If not about 15 minutes, you need to wait about 15 minutes before turning on the motor.
Also you should do the auto tune a while after you turn on the motor.

I've had it on for roughly 45 minutes to an hour approximately when I tried the two times. Will try to rewire the fan.

Also important that the insulation is even with the face of the nozzle.

Thanks Elmoret, I finally got my Filawinder as well, and assembled it as well.

I mounted them both (vertically) with the wall using velcro straps, which surprisingly worked out really well.

Here's a video of my first run, I am thinking of having the motor run in reverse after this run is done, so that the filament is guided through the top section of the filament guide to the spool, not sure if that would matter (or change how well it spools).
