Topic: Solidoodle 2 Won't Heat After E3D V6 Upgrade

Hey guys,

I have been hopping in and out of this forum since I first got started with 3d printing a couple of years ago. I have been able to use the forum to fix most of the issues that have popped up with my SD 2, however I think I may be in over my head. I had attempted an upgrade to a new hotend, the E3D V6 as my standard hotend was jamming regularly. I also wanted to start printing in other filaments. The upgrade seemed pretty straight forward, but now, my Hotend won't heat. I'm at a loss. I had wanted to take everything apart completely and redo all of the wiring etc, but I'm afraid I'll only make a bad situation worse by diving in without guidance. Any help you guys could provide would be most greatly appreciated!

Can I start by moving this thread out of the XYZ section and over to the Solidoodle Section?

Let's start with the Simple things first.
When you connect up to your printer, what extruder temp is being reported?

When you call for heat, is the output chart showing that it is on?
Have you checked with a DMM that when you are calling for heat that there is 12v going to those pins?  I'm leaning towards a bad connection between the board and the heat cartridge itself.

You're right there's no power going to the pins, but the connections between the wire and pins, and the wire and board are solid...

That's the problem, might wanna check the resistance of the heater itself.
