Topic: DaVinci 1.0 not extruding during prints
Greetings. I have 3 Davinci 1.0 printers. They have been firmware changed to repatier, and I use Simplify3D. I have been using them for a few months now with no problems.
Last week, for whatever reason, they all stopped working. They would load and start printing with no problem, but then the extruder would stop feeding. I lowered the plate down to confirm, and saw nothing coming out the tip.
I have a couple of brand new extruders I got from XYZ still in the box, so I swapped out thinking it was just a cleaning issue. But on the very next print with a brand new extruder, the same exact thing happens. I get about 3 inches of skirt printed before it just trails off and nothing more comes out.
I cleaned the gears for the extruder and notice there is not very much tension between the motor gear and the static one (the gear with the black wedges printed on it). I moved the motor by hand and it barely scraped the static gear. I am thinking this is by design, as the filament would fill the gap.
I thought this my have to do with humidity. so I tried a brand new filament pack I got in. Same problem. I checked the readout on the extruder and it was still showing 230 +/-2 degrees at all times.
Anyone else seen this? There is no clicking or anything. I made sure they were all manually leveled with the paper method, which has worked perfect for the past 3 months. I even tried doing a print from the Rep console and got the exact same problem on all three.
