Topic: PLA prints start and stops problems

I recently started started messing with PLA instead of ABS and i seem to have ugly start and stops.
first one is aligned and second is random. random works waaay better but when i print these in ABS the starts are not nearly as noticable.

Im wondering if this is a Slic3r thing or my calibration is just off.

I have a Solidoodle 2 and im guessing my nozzle Dia. is .4mm so am supposed to get .48mm wall thickness? ive been printing hollow cubes with 3 vertical shells and measuring. i was originally at 1.2mm but if its supposed to be .48mm thickness then it should be  1.44?

Do you have a fan blowing on the print? Start with that - it can even be a desk fan. You shouldn't need any more than 60C bed temperature for adhesion, and take off your enclosure if you have one. Although I think you've got a calibration issue, you need to deal with the melting aspect first.

dont have a fan blowing on it but i did fix the problem with some extrusion calibration.  working on hooking up my nozzle fan to it one of these days.
