Topic: Heated Bed Peeling Away

And on to my next problem... It's just one thing after another!

OK so I can no longer get my heated bed up to 100 degrees. Weirdly though, when I touch it, it actually feels hotter than it used to. So I had a look under the bed, and the pas is peeling away from the aluminium. There is a triangular area about 3 inches on each side which has come unstuck. That's presumably only going to get bigger.

So what's the best method for re-sticking it?

Re: Heated Bed Peeling Away

You could try spray adhesive and see if that works!

Not sure about that at 100 degrees...

Re: Heated Bed Peeling Away

Yeah, that is true. But if you check the wires on your heating pad and try the adhesive spray u think you would get some good results!

Do you have the stock press model heater?

Re: Heated Bed Peeling Away

Yes, it's the stock Press heater for now at least. The wires are fine, so I'll give the adhesive spray a try and see what happens. Thanks!

Re: Heated Bed Peeling Away

The replacement pad SD sent me had 3M 467MP adhesive tape on it. <$5 on ebay will get you more than enough of that tape for two beds. I used acetone to soften the bits of old adhesive on the bed, and to prep the bed for the new pad.

[EDIT] I didn't use acetone on the pad, since I had a new pad. No idea if it's safe for the pad.

Re: Heated Bed Peeling Away

Acetone shouldn't hurt a silicone pad.

Yeah check those wires on the heating pad. Mine was completely fried, so I had to buy a mk2b heatbed from Amazon.
