Re: Da Vinci 1.1 Plus Released!

I think I will wait for reviews.  I do not see anything that they improve scanner or got it to print on under 100 microns.   Just that it has wifi and led screen.  Everything else looks the same but could be wrong.

Unless you build one or you plan to spend $1500 plus you will hard pressed to find a FFM based printer that can go below .100 microns. My delta I built will do .05 and I am about to try .025mm but I have doubts on that number.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!
Anycubic 4MAX best $225 ever invested.
Voxelabs Proxima SLA. 6 inch 2k Mono LCD.
Anycubic Predator, massive Delta machine. 450 x 370 print envelope.

I disagree. Unless you have slop in your Z axis, those numbers should be very attainable. I did a calculation using the reprap calculator and found that I could pull this off just fine, each layer change would require 8 steps. I'm not saying it would be easy wink 0.025mm layers would deposit so little material that you would need to print quickly, and you would also need a very accurate extruder with your extrusion multiplier dialed in absurdly well.

As far as the hardware goes, it is very capable. Companies like to boast about their Z axis resolution, but really, the Z axis is the LEAST frustrating axis to deal with as far as precision goes, especially on Ultimaker-style machines like the Solidoodle and Da Vinci, where the Y axis poses the most headaches. Simply put, threaded rods are precise and if you handle the slop, they can do these resolutions quite well. A dirt cheap stepper may be the weakest link on most machines, if you check out the datasheets.

Re: Da Vinci 1.1 Plus Released!

I'm pretty satisfied with the output my 1.0 makes so I would be quite happy to own the 1.1 Plus.

Re: Da Vinci 1.1 Plus Released!

@ valguerra

The 1.1 Plus does not have a scanner. It is simply an improved version of the 1.0.

It is supposed to be able to run PLA though big_smile

edit: The release pictures aren't that clear but it looks like they completely redesigned the print bed and it appears that the calibration screws are at each corner now.
