All you have to do is downgrade to 1.1.E and use OpenXYZWare. It doesn't count down the amount of plastic you use. Have fun!

You should note that there is no downgrading to 1.1.E for the newer Da Vinci 1.0A.

I did it with mine. You just have to short JP1 on the printer and send the firmware with arduino IDE

I tried to run OpenXYZWare, but, get the same errors that other people note on that forum.

Yours is a 1.0, that is why you where able to do it. If you had a 1.0A then your serial number whould start as 3DP01A.
If it was sold to you as a 1.0A then got into the mix up as well with distributors not knowing there was a difference or how to tell the difference.

Are you putting the Openware exe in your XYZ ware directory? The open version requires the original version to be on your system and it is tequited for the open version to be placed in the original versions directory. If I remember right it actually replaces the original versions exe. It needs all the other files the original used to run though.
