Topic: PLA Success with Press

Thought I would try out some PLA, because the Press is supposed to be able to print it, right?

So I knew I was up against it with having no part fan, my printer is bone stock with no modifications (yet) and I as said before no part fan.  See pictures below, I'm fairly happy with the results and the results are repeatable and the print quality seems repeatable.

3d Filaprint (Rep-Rapper) Gold PLA (1.75)
0.2 Layer Height
95 bed
200 extruder
top open
door open about 3"

Hope this helps people that are having difficulties with PLA, this has been successful for me.

My goodness... thank you for your update and the settings. I stockpiled some PLA thinking the Press would be able to handle it. Now, to the printer!

I found PLA to be very printable when the ambient temperature was low, but not so much once warmer weather arrived.  what's your room temp?

We don't have central heating and the printer is being used in the kitchen so I would guess the ambient temperature to be 18 degrees C.

I guess once the weather starts warming up for the summer things may change, hope not.

I had the top open and the door.

No worries, good luck

Don't give up on it, it is possible just takes a lot of tweaking to get the correct settings for your conditions, oh and lots of patience.
