Topic: Was FW version E the one that did not track the filament? On the 1.0.
I have the da vinci 1.0 and I am wanting to drop back on FW so I don't need the resetter. Was E the one that did not keep track if the filament?
Thanks.

Why not flash to Repetier 9.2? You dont even need to unscrew the back of the printer to get to the motherboard to flash it. Repetier is also way better than the stock firmware

I have thought about that also but I use S3d and thought there was a problem with Repetier and S3D on the Da Vinci.

S3D works with virtually any printer and any firmware. There is a reason it sets you back 150 bucks.
I'm using E and can confirm it doesn't count filament.
Just remember that XYZ considers it a warranty violation to not upgrade to the most recent version. Thats why they ask you what your current version is when making a warranty claim. Dumb if you ask me but that is their business model..
Why does that not surprise me. ![]()
Thanks Guys. I dropped it back to Version E for the time being. At some point I am going to do a major mod on it. I may try Repetier 9.2 soon. Last night the glass chipped, so now I have to replace the heat bed. Of course XYZ is out of stock on the bed so I need to figure out what I am going to do to fix it. I got this printer back in August last year but have long sense gave XYZ the I think they are #1 sign as far as their warranty goes.
carl,
Are you still going to do w write up on the conversion you did on yours. I would like to do the same thing you did but, I am still very new to this and having a hard time trying to figure out where to start as far as modding goes.

Getting close, still having a few minor bugs pop up in some prints. Once i get rid of those and can print reliably I will make a write up.
My bed chipped as well. All I did is got a local glass company to cut and edge polish to pieces of tempered glass that where the same size as the stock piece but 3mm thick. I simply mounted one on top of the existing piece and added 3mm to my z offset. No issues since.

Thanks I look forward to it. Thanks for the glass tip as well. I will go that route too.
