Topic: Quick question about infill gaps.

Hey everyone I got my 3d printer recently and am pretty happy with the results, setting it up is a fairly easy process and I spent a good hour or 2 getting it calibrated and printing a few small test prints. I am happy with the quality at 0.2mm and 0.1mm layer height, however I have a concern and I was just wondering if you guys had any input on this. OK so basically In the images I attached it is visible that there are small gaps around the holes in my prints also you can kind of see through the top layer and see the little mesh pattern from the layer below. Is this the slicer or the firmware? Or is it something I need to physically adjust on the printer. I am really happy with the prints it makes I just feel as though this is an issue that should be pretty easy to fix. Thanks and any input is appreciated.

p.s. I have a davinci 1.0 with 1.2.7 firmware and the latest windows program.

Re: Quick question about infill gaps.

It look like under extrusion to me. As long as you are running stock firmware and stock software however you will not have access to the settings needed to correct it. If you where willing to spend 150 bucks on software Simplify3d supports the Da vinci out of the box and allows you to make the changes you need to tweak this issue. Most of the users here swear by it and use it. I just got it but since I am used to other stuff there is a bit of a learning curve. I am also no longer running a pure Da vinci so i am having some setup issue with it.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Re: Quick question about infill gaps.

So you are saying if I purchase simplify3d I don't have to modify the firmware and I can use it with the davinci, and you think this will fix it. Also does anyone know of any other way of fixing the issue, I have experience both programming and flashing microchips so if people still think its worth switching to repetier let me know.

Its extrusion width settings, xyz ware doesn't have this option.

Re: Quick question about infill gaps.

I ended up just flashing repetier, the software really is much better and I think I may have fixed the issue. No $150 program needed.

Re: Quick question about infill gaps.

For anyone with Simplify3D, I can confirm that adjusting the extrusion width and extrusion multiplier fixes this issue.
I had this issue myself and fixed it with extrusion width at 0.48mm and multiplier set to 1.1.
