Topic: Z axis is reversed, SD4

Hello, Just starting to set up a Solidoodle 4, and first time visiting the group here.
When connecting through Repetier, with the Solidoodle version from the SD site, everything functions but the Z Axis is backwards.

Up arrow moves down, down arrow moves up.

HOME, still brings it to the proper position, but if starting a print, instead of the bed dropping each layer, it actually goes UP, driving into the nozzle.

Any thoughts? Is the z stepper just wired into the clip backwards possibly?

Typically the buttons on the interface represent tool head movement not the platform. So even though the platform moves down when you press up the tool is actually moving up as far as the software is concerned. If it really bothers you there is a swap option in the settings for the machine settings in the software.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Ah I see, It's not the "bed" controls, Its the "head" distance from the bed the arrows control.
Got it.

Thanks for the quick response.

Seems to be printing, I must have been wrong about the bed hitting the nozzle during print. Strange.

One last question, it doesn't move to the middle of the bed to start a print. No matter what the position in software, It starts printing right in the back corner, at home. Just heats up, and starts printing.

Looks like I don't have any thing in the gcode start code file. Should anything be in there?

Just heats up, and starts printing.

If I recall, in the earlier versions of Slicer, there was a checkbox in the Slicer tab to 'start printing automatically' or 'when up to temperature', or  something like that.  If so, disable that, that will give you more control.
