Still no news

This is getting so frustrating i wish they had someone i could speak to to find out where my fing printer is. I'm wondering if somehow they shipped it to someone else by mistake and they don't have the balls to fess up to screwing up.

Its not like i'm going to rip their balls off and make them eat them as prairie oysters....yet

I just received an email from solidoodle andit left me a little more than pissed off.

Last week over the phone i'm told my printer is fine after they changed out the board and tuned it up then i received this;
"HI %%%%%:

I have been informed that you will need a new power supply for your printer as well, this is why it has not shipped yet. Unfortunately, you will have to purchase the new power supply, as I have already offered the motherboard free of costs, which has a value of $$$$. The cost of a new power supply will be $$$$. I will send you a PayPal request to pay this amount. Please let me know when you have made this payment so that I may confirm and have your printer shipped out to you.

Is it to much for more of an explanation as to why the powersupply that was working last week isn't working this week?

I'll will attempt to get it back and do my own power supply but i have the feeling they are hoolding my printer hostage. they have already sent a request for money

I completely understand your frustration, and apologize for any confusion. I was not stating that your power supply is damaged. Some of our Solidoodle 3 printers have the older motherboards, and some have the newer motherboards. I was not aware that your printer had the older motherboard, until I was informed about this by my service department. The new motherboard is not compatible with the old power supply, and given the fact that we have already offered you a replacement motherboard free of charge, which was a rare offer on our behalf, I can not offer you a power supply free of charge as well. This is why I have stated you will need a new power supply. No worries! I will have my shipping department ship you your printer as is, with the new motherboard along with the power supply that you sent. Upon receiving your printer back, you can decide whether or not to purchase a new power supply. I will provide you with a tracking number once one has been provided to me.

Well i finally got word that they are sending my printer back and it should be here tomorrow sigh frustrating

It has arrived and I am now running a few test prints. to be fair i just had a root canal so i probably won't be pleased by much

well its back and printing well for the most part but i noticed on th left hand side of the printer i was getting so raised areas on the prints. warping and curling i was hoping to get an idea of what it was and how to cure it. i'm printing pla at 200c wit the heat bed at 50c

Usually PLA is easier than ABS as it shrinks appreciably less. The round shapes should also be less prone. It's quite reasonable to expect to be able to print those in PLA as you're doing.

Observe the first layer as it goes on, checking it's consistent in appearance across the bed. You might see any warping this way too.

Then, 200C sounds a bit high for PLA on an SD3 hotend,  solidoodle recommends 185C for example.

Other things to check:
* Filament is dry
* Scrub that kapton clean!
* First layer is a bit more squished
* Try using a brim (though not ideal for the gears you're printing of course)
* Keep it cool in there - if the case is enclosed, open it up. PLA usually benefits from a nozzle fan to help things solidify a bit quicker
