Topic: SD4 horizontal stripes on prints

Hi,

I have a big problem with my SD4. When I print, horizontal stripes appear on my prints. I've tested cheap Chinese filament and an expensive premium EU filament. What could be the problem?

Re: SD4 horizontal stripes on prints

That is a mechanical problem commonly referred to as Z wobble. it has nothing to do with the type of filament.

there is a lot of discussion about it and various ways of trying to fix it - there is a stickied thread just above about this very subject. http://www.soliforum.com/topic/2154/fix … aded-zrod/

Re: SD4 horizontal stripes on prints

Thanks. This helped me a bit.
I've read a couple of fellow SD owners changed their 5/16 threaded rods to M3 threaded rods, but haven't found any details. Is there anybody who could tell me how should I do it?

do a bit of digging around - there are plenty of threads about it.

I personally have not needed to do that to my SD4, so I cant really tell ya much. I was able to solve what little banding I had with a simple bed stabilizer on the front.
