New Fan installation Success's... and Failures.....

Printed out this fan shroud i found in the Fan Installation post.

Got a small switch from Autozone and some Speaker wire to hook it up.

Drilled a hole in the back for the switch. Didn't want to put it in the metal case in case i wanted to remove it.

I took both ends of a plug out of an old router so i could disconnect it.

Shoved the wire through the braid.

I jumped my power from the lights but instead of splicing into the wire i saw there was some space in the plug where the wires are inserted and took some jumper wires i had and removed the plastic part, flattened the metal end and shoved it into the same plug.

Then wired it all together.

soldered and heat-wrapped the female plug

Hot Glued it in place. (Wasnt sure at first about using hot glue but it was actually very solid)

Plugged it in.

It Works!

So then i thought i ought to try it out....aaaand it melted....

So im printing another one. I think it may have been because it wasnt completely level witht he bed and the back side was touching the hot end. this time ill make sure its much more level.

Oh also i had to do some minor modifications to get it to fit in the first place, like filing a grove in the end to clear a bolt. you can see in that first picture of the shroud. and the top mounting piece had to be modified to fit.
