Topic: Error Code 0007- Cartridge 1 Error when using Slic3r gcode

I sliced a model with Slic3r, added the proper heading to the gcode, and uploaded it to XYZware without a problem. But when I try and print, I get:
Cartridge 1 Error
Please remove cartridge and install again.
If errors exist, please contact service center for support.
ERROR CODE: 0007

Try printing a sample print from the LCD. If it prints as it should then your header is not correct. If it still gives the error then you have a contact issue between the cartridge and the contacts at the base of the cartridge well.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Other models print successfully as long as they are sliced by XYZware.

Attached is a test part that I repaired in Netfabb and sliced using Slicer - I added the proper header and ending lines.  The part printed just fine in XYZware (and was the last part I printed using XYZware, before blowing it away and switching to Simplify, 4 months ago).  I imagine it still prints - try it...  It's a small part, photo attached...

Now I get a different error:

You do not have proper printing material to print this file.(ABS1 is installed; 2 is required)

Please install compatible printing material or try other files.

Re: Error Code 0007- Cartridge 1 Error when using Slic3r gcode

Interesting...
Because I deleted the XYZware and my printer was built early this year (and, based on reading other posts on the net), there may be things I'm not up to snuff on, thus, I have no experience with this error and can't test it in XYZware.
The gcode file loads just fine in Simplify3d (photo attached).  Hopefully, others can help with the new error...

UPDATE - Post your .3w file and I'll base64 decode it - will see what/if the header changes are and if different than what was previously needed.

Re: Error Code 0007- Cartridge 1 Error when using Slic3r gcode

If you are getting an error with the sliced model but not a sample then your header is not correct. I would compare your header to one of those on the sd card as a sample.

Re: Error Code 0007- Cartridge 1 Error when using Slic3r gcode

Very interesting...  The .3w files I created when I first received the printer easily decodes to a text file.  I can open your .3w file and see the encoded text.  But, when I run the decoder on your .3w file, it converts to text and I can see it just before the file auto deletes all the text - it completely deletes everything!  I have to give credit to the folks at XYZ for their cleverness.

Update:  I also tried decoding using a service on the net - not able to decode it - the following error is reported:
Sorry, it just wasn’t possible to decode that string. Please let us know if you think this is a bug in our code.

The particular error here was:

The input is not a valid Base-64 string as it contains a non-base 64 character, more than two padding characters, or an illegal character among the padding characters.

I'll probably crack it open, and check out the headers on the sample prints stored on the SD.
