Topic: Solidoodle 4, lights dim and becomes unresponsive

Hi, i have been using a solidoodle 4 for an extended amount of time today, around 10 hours, it been working fine. The LED lights began to flash and then dimmed all together, once this happens the printer becomes unresponsive to any computer commands.
i have restarted the computer, printer (and let the printer cool down) and software. The printer connects with the lights at normal brightness and i can use manual control to move in all axis', i can heat the extruder but as soon as i heat the bed the lights dim and the printer doesn't do anything. Im not sure if its an issue with the power to heat the extruder and bed at the same time, or something entirely different.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Charlie

Sounds like your board is overheating. Do you have any cooling (fans) on it?
For some reason, Solidoodle designed the SD4 to house the board within a heated enclosure.
Have you considered adding a fan, relocating the board to the outside, or both?

Yeah that's what i originally thought but left it a while to be completely cool and the problem still persists, i dont have any cooling on the board other than the cooling fan under the board (in the electronics box) which came on the SD4
