Topic: Stumped. Rep .092 and S3D Medium speeds and print failing at infill

So I am running a Davinci 1.0a MK9 extruder with .092 REP and slicing via S3D. On slow speeds I can print small objects with infill of 30% fine. But I am stuck problem solving a larger print with medium speeds. The extruder works for the first 3-4 layers until it reaches the infill, once it hits this point the infill looks choppy and my extruder is in the air not extruding any filament.

If I push down on the filament the extruder will start extruding once again in the air, so this tells me something is going on at the infill section and causing the filament to stop pushing through the feeder. I am totally stumped..

I had a similar issue. When this happens, stop your print and unload the filament. Is the filament ground up? (semi-circle ground into the filament?).

Higher speeds require a higher temp at the nozzle since more filament is being pushed through. Filament acts like a heat sink and sucks heat out of the heat block. So the faster and more filament you feed, the faster heat is removed. To compensate you need to raise the temp 5 to 10 degrees. The rule of thumb is simple. Higher speeds higher temp. Lower speeds lower temp.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Thanks Carl. @Jason - No grinding at all.
