Topic: Da Vinci XYZ 1.0 LCD screen blank after repetier 0.92 firmware update

I have a Da Vinci XYZ 1.0 with the J1 jumper reset on the main board.  I am able to successfully flash and use Repetier firmware version 0.91 with no problems.  When I attempt to upgrade to version 0.92 the LCD back light comes on but it does not display any characters.  I believe the firmware is working as I can use the buttons to execute different functions.  However, no characters are displayed on the screen rendering it almost useless.  I suspect I may need to change something in the firmware to make it compatible with my LCD but my experience with modifying firmware is limited.  I am wondering if anybody else has encountered this issue or if somebody out there can recommend a solution that may fix this problem.

Why don't you reflash and install .92 from scratch instead of upgrading?

Thanks for responding, the approach I have been taking is to it erase the 0.91 and then re-flash with 0.92.  I realize I did not make this very clear when I said upgrading in my original post.  I am pulling my .bin file off of github and I wonder if that file does not support the LCD on my xyz 1.0.  As I said in my original post the printer appears to be operational the only problem being the screen does not display any characters.  Does anybody out there have a link to Repetier 0.92 firmware that is know to be working on a Da Vinci XYZ 1.0 with the original main board containing the J1 rest pin?

Before you uploaded it to your machine with Adruino, did you click the configuration.h tab and confirm your machine type was selected. That version supports all of the Da Vinci models and you have to select which model you are flashing it to.

Yes, there are three variables that may need to be changed; if I remember correctly they were: model type, number of extruder's and a fan select.  After reviewing all of them I ended up not changing anything as the defaults appeared to match my setup.

For your printer I am pretty sure it is type 33.

Looking at the first part of the code, I see the three parameters for da vinci 1.0, model, and extruder I have these set to the defaults 1,0,0 as that matches my machine.  I am trying to find the place where I would adjust the type to 33 as recommended.  Can you be more specific as to where I need to make the change at.

Has anyone figured out this issue? I just flashed Repetier 0.92 on my Da Vinci 1.0. My computer can see it and i can even connect to it with Repetier Host and print, but the screen on the printer just lights up and does not display anything. It does make sounds when i turn it on and press the buttons. I would love to figure out what is going on with it. Having that screen working would be a huge help.
