Topic: MURPHY Spent The Weekend With ME!!

Finally got all the bearings and rods to install Lawsy's carriages.  Mistake #1 - I printed the carriages in PLA - wrong, they kinda crumbled when I tried to put the bearings in.  Print new ABS ones - OK.  Disassemble SD to save the original carriage assembly (good thing!)   Almost got it all back together and I broke the little tab on the right hand carriage.  Curse for a while, have a beer or 10 and reassemble the old carriage in order to print another new part.  Well... the E3D fan went intermittent on me without my knowing, and the E3D melted the bottom of the extruder.  I have most of one more that will fit the E3d.  I needed to reheat and reshape the tab that holds the hot end in place - it kinda melted.  Did I say when the 30mm fan quit, the extruder clogged also?  OK - clog cleaned, new wires to the 30mm fan, when I push the fan onto the barrel, the housing snaps!!!   Am currently printing a new housing, (consuming a substantial amount of Sam Adams Summer Ale for support)  then new carriages, have to do both, ran out of black, can't have one white and one black so they will be white!

Still don't have the new carriages in place.......

And how was your weekend? !!!

Without Sam and/or the folks at the Plank Road Brewery I'd be in an awful fix  big_smile

The injection molded polycarbonate fan duct snapped? I'd like to see a photo.

I'll get one up prob tomorrow.  You can see it split on the top, I don't know how far it goes thru.  It's staying in place, I don't want to dismantle it til I have a replacement.

It's hanging on there somehow.  I'm afraid if I take it off, it may break all the way.  When I finally find one that I can print that fits, I'll take this one apart.  I have printed 2 from Thingiverse, but they are too big - ~24-25mm across.

That's impressive, I've never seen that before. If you bought the hotend from me, I'm happy to send a replacement - just get in touch via the website's contact form.
