That's a ton of filament just sitting out like that, might want to store it....

May have to do with environment. I leave mine out all the time for months and have no issues with moisture. I do live in north Texas though where the average outside humidity is about 40% while the inside is usually 30%.

If you live in a dry area storing it in the open should be no issue.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Re: Pictures of your build space..

Nice! I'm thinking about getting a Delta too.

BTW, I went out and bought a clear container for my spools. They aren't sitting out in the open any more big_smile

Here is my set up. I like the chaos of parts and tools everywhere.

Re: Pictures of your build space..

This isn't a picture of my space (too messy right now), but I have just finished printing one each of the star vase sample for each color filament I have (37 right now).  I also designed and printed the shelf they are sitting on.

Re: Pictures of your build space..

That's a really neat idea scott! I may actually start doing that as I typically print about half of one when I get a new color to test it (then melt it down) anyway

Re: Pictures of your build space..

I wrote a number on the bottom of each of them and numbered the spools so I know which color is what spool. Took a while to print them, a lot of filament changes! I put the shelf on thingiverse.com.

Absolutely, makes me feel better that I can shoot the fucker at any time smile

It is a fake gun, a cigarette lighter that I was using to set the heatshrink while I was soldering the connection to the new power supply. Why ? Because the original power supply is too weak to work properly with the upgraded bed filament that replaced the one that failed. Yes, 10W extra apparently create a problem.

This is the second one with an inspiring top (printed on the Davinci smile )

You wouldn't happen to have the STL for that beauty would you?

Yes I am one of the few bachelors here. I can get away with it...:)

It is based on this:

http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:650768 I will always be grateful to  Bomgkolyadun, he published a few more nice models on Thingiverse.

I cut it into 4-5 sections using Netfabb, then enlarged those  4x (I think). I then worked to reduce the file sizes to about 23 MB (Davinci otherwise crashes) using Simplify3D by reducing the infill to about 8%, saving material and time, but makes the model a bit brittle.

Used two printers simultaneously (the 1.0 and Duo) printing for about 40 hrs. Make sure they are on a UPS just in case of a freak storm. I had one leg print fail because of a power loss, restarted and need to shorten the leg section by about 3-4 mm to be proper. Now each printer has its own dedicated UPS. Glued it temporarily for now since it helps with the anger management when something fails on the Duo to look at that model and see what nice things it can create. Somehow looking at it is nicer than looking at model trains wagons and locomotive shells.

I will publish the STL's once I get home. There are still issues with the hair that I need to resolve and sand the joints on the body, put some plastic model filler then paint.

Looks very good overall. You may also want to look at this one:

Same technique, came out very nice. I should print a life size one smile

There you go http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:828592 , enlarge 5x-8x then print.
