Topic: MK9 Mod gear questions

So I have been having problems with my davinci extruder jamming a lot and nothing seems to fix it so I modded the x carriage to hold my mk9 extruder. Does anyone know if the gears are too tight if there is "light" teeth marks in the filament when its feeding the filament?

There should be teeth marks. Unless that  new gear id exactly the same diameter and tooth count as stock you will need to change your steps per mm on the extruder. This cant be done on stock firmware and if yhe gear is different and this is not changed, your feed volume will be wrong.

It can only be done if you have flashed to repetier firmware. The you can make the change through the EEPROM settings in Repetier host or make the changes in Adruino before you upload the firmware.

Re: MK9 Mod gear questions

Okay thanks again. Looks like the MK9 gear is makerbot and has 26 teeth. Not sure how many teeth the davinci has.
