Topic: Trying to beef up Lawsy carriage, but Slicer never finishes

So I'm trying to build:

http://geekho.com/push/WPNS_Lawsy_Right_2.skp
http://geekho.com/push/WPNS_Lawsy_Right_2.stl

and Slic3r keeps throwing:

Unable to close this loop having <nn> points

Errors and essentially never completes.  I've tried Solid Inspector2 and it only found one error.  I tried Cleanup3 and when it tried to do "Merge Faces" it finds 72 errors, loses some geometry, and pretty much destroys the model.

Any other tools I should be using?  Any idea what's wrong with my model?  I started with Lawsy's .skp file, thickened the base, and made the top belt bolt holder a little thicker too.

Thanks!

Took your skp file exported as a binary stl mm. Used netfabb to do the repair. Checked in Slic3r it didn't give an error. Try the attached file after the repair was done.

Seems to slice OK, it's in the queue for printing...

Thanks!

Link for netfabb.

https://modelrepair.azurewebsites.net/

works for me when I have a stubborn stl.

Of course I know what I'm doing.  I googled it.
