Topic: Suggested upgrades

Well i'm trying to bring my printer up to speed i have a solidoodle 3 with the wood bed

Its been advised to add fans over the control board to help cool it better and improve prints

what are the suggested upgrades besides the metal bed (which I plan) and add the stabalizer rod mod and do the z wobble fix at that time ( not sure which of those to do )

I want to get the E3Dv6 hot end

and add the improved x carriage and y carriages but i don't know where to find the bushings

Re: Suggested upgrades

* Fans on the control board is a good idea - at least get all the parts ready to go in case you come across trouble with skipping steps.
* Metal bed is a good idea.
* I'd combine the stabiliser with an M3 or M5 z-thread conversion, and a well-nut to cut out backlash.
* E3Dv6 is an excellent idea. Print the matching "mk V" extruder mount to go with it.
* Linear bushings, look up "LM8UU" on eBay or amazon. They're also available from many 3d-printing specific shops online. If you're in USA, apparently McMaster-Carr have more reliable quality ones for a bit more money. You'll also want to look into buying new rods to go with those bushings (again, ebay+luck or mcmaster-carr will do you well).

Re: Suggested upgrades

You can just tie into the existing fan wires or the LED's  both are 12v.
