That last picture looks like it is getting better but until you fix the z-wobble it's going to be hard to tell.  Given your situation I would consider pulling that motor and threaded rod out.  Then use a good flat surface and see if you can't straighten it some.  You really have nothing to lose.

i dont get it. you mean take the motor and rod out and try to bend and make it straight?

Yep, see you do get it wink
I would imagine that is easier to bend than you'd think.  Although you may not get it perfect you really can't make it any worse.

and for some reason it still doesnt start from random points to each layer.
do you guys have any idea why?

Re: pictures of my prints, what do you guys think is the problem?

Maybe you missed it earlier but I mentioned Slic3r ver. 1.1.7 for a reason.  It seems to be a bug in that version but without knowing what version you have I can't say for certain.

yes it is 1.1.7

Re: pictures of my prints, what do you guys think is the problem?

There's the problem, random start points doesn't seem to work in that version.  It was apparently fixed in version 1.2.6 so you should try upgrading and see.

you are right about that. i tried 0.9.9 and it does the random points.
and for some reason both of these versions dont do honeycomb infill. rectangular infill effects my outer layers. i ll post a picture once i finish it. and then try 1.2.6.

Re: pictures of my prints, what do you guys think is the problem?

I think i have another problem. I solved the honeycomb issue. I installed my profiles on slic3r from my old computer and it was the problem. It is ok When i use a brand new one .
It seemd like my infill does not touch the perimeter and it makes my print breakable. I ll try to bend the rod today.

Just out of curiosity, what kind/brand filament is that?

it is a chinese brand, esun.
i have people around me getting good prints with this filament.
i am printing another part right now. it seems good so far. i ll share the pics.

so , i am really thinking about changing the rod.  i ll go with m5. is there a specific size, quality m5 i should look for or any m5 would be ok?
i checked the topic related to this but had hard time understand.
thanks

Re: pictures of my prints, what do you guys think is the problem?

I think when it comes to m5 the thread pitch is going to pretty standard.  As long as you get the correct nut to match and know what the actual pitch is you can calculate the proper steps per mm.

Re: pictures of my prints, what do you guys think is the problem?

You could also consider the threadless ballscrew Z axis. Somewhat easier to set up than others because you won't have to tap a hole. Plus, more bearings, which never hurt anyone wink

I am in between threadless ballscrew and m5.
Which one do you guys recommend more?
and about fishing line, is it hard to set up? I may try that.
I have access to almost all the tools so m5 wouldnt be a problem that much. For some reason i have gaps between the infill and the perimeter as you guys can see on the top picture.
what could cause this?
Thanks

Re: pictures of my prints, what do you guys think is the problem?

The threadless ballscrew will require some firmware tweaks to enable repeatability.  Not a big deal but there is another option and that would be to use an actual ballscrew.  More info and a good read http://www.soliforum.com/topic/10012/sd … installed/
This would be my first choice and second would be a good m5.

Re: pictures of my prints, what do you guys think is the problem?

Indeed I actually meant ballscrew, not the threadless ballscrew. My mistake.

I solved most of my problems.  Installed a coupling between z motor and the rod and my walls are pretty good now.
I have another problem. It might be related to "solid infill threshold area" . It was set to 70 on this print. I m trying to print mk5 extruder and i have small gaps on my prints. What do you guys think?

According to this guide, it means your short belt is not tight enough.

I think the belt is pretty tight. I ll dig into that guide.
in the mean time, i tried 40 for solid infill threshold and again same problem.
you can see especially  the small part has a lot of gaps.

this may be a stupid question but what temp have you got the extruder set to?

Re: pictures of my prints, what do you guys think is the problem?

By adjusting the extrusion width I solved this problem.
the problem was since these objects have small areas that are thinner than my default extrusion width , there were gaps.
I manually put 0.3 for defult extrusion width, infill, solid infill and top solid infill and solved it.
Any other recommendations?
Thanks for that guide btw.

forgot to upload the pics. I pretty much solved it by trial and error as you can see on small parts.http://soliforum.com/i/?iKWsG3f.jpg
