Topic: Heat bed won't heat

Hi I just got my Solidoodle 4, when I first got it running, the heat bed worked fine, I printed a calibration cube and it turned out great. However, Now whenever I click heat bed in Repetier host, the bed doesn't heat at all. Any ideas?

I would track the wiring down.  Mine is an older SD2, but did the same.  Found it to be a wire had come out of the connector on the print board - a little manipulation - and back in business.
How a stationary wire comes out of a stationary connector....????

Thermodynamics.  The stock molex plug is underrated for the current so it heats up and expands.

As long as its'  just the connector and not the board, you can replace them with JST's pretty cheap - like <1.00 for 3 from places like Polou and many others.
Don't give up the ship!  Others should chime in with some more help.

I've been looking thru digikey trying to find the right connector, anyone know which one it is?

Search 1901 for the connectors, then 1801 for the wires at Pololu.com
You will want their wires since they are pre-crimped and slide right into the connector. Leave yourself a few inches of slack then cut the new wire and splice into the stock wires.

Thanks for the help everybody, it's back up and running again, and Solidoodle is sending me a new heat bed so I'll have a spare!
