I haven't noticed any clicking around that part. The funny noise I had a hard time figuring out was the cable chain scrunching a bit against the foamboard case when the carriage moves left far enough.

Thanks Claghorn. I just finished the Y axis direct drive mod . I had to modify mount slightly due to size difference in the coupler I used. I had to add 10 mm to make mine fit .

It certainly made a big improvement . It was one of those ebay china 8$ couplers . Thanks for all your work I really appreciated it . Hope to talk again soon    Bill D.
