Topic: Printer doing one thing and software something else

Hi all
I have a 2nd generation printer connected to a Win7 Enterprise, 32 bit system with the Repetier-Host Solidoodle V0.85b
-    Printer is connected as second generation printer
-    File can be loaded ok and sliced
-    If starting the print job, the printer is moving in all 3 dimension to a defined starting point. Think this is ok.
-    The software shows that the printer is connected at the lower information bar with info of the extruder and the bed temperature.

•    Extruder set to 215 deg and Printbed to 100 deg. Extruder is heated to the defined degree, but the printbed is not able to get to the desired temperature.
•    When extruder heat is reached, it seems to drop again and the extruder is not able to keep the heat.
•    Not able to extrude the filament manual anymore
•    The software shows movement is Y and X direction, I cant see that the printer is actually moving
•    The software shown an animation where the object seems to be built, but the printer is not moving.
•    The software shows an error log with time and text “Printer stopped deu to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart!. (Temperature is reset. Set it before restating)"

See video on youtube at: http://youtu.be/tXapIcOApyY

Any feedback of how to get my printer to work with the software would be greatly appreciated. Where do I start with the faultfinding?

Best regards Stein

Re: Printer doing one thing and software something else

Once the heat to measurement variances exceed a certain threshold, the system will shut down.

Check the position and connections to the heat bed thermistor and make sure it has not come loose.  This is the likely cause of your bed not ever getting to temp (or at least the controller thinking that it's not).

Start there and see if that helps.

Then, if you're still having problems:
Tune your Vrefs for all motors and consider upgrading your power supply.  My original power supply took almost an hour to heat my bed and only then could I begin heating the extruder.

Thank you to IronMan and PheonixSD3

It turned out to be an easy fix in the end by setting the extruder temperature from 215 to 210. Now it works fine :-) Regarding the temperature on the bed - it just takes an ocean of time to get it heated, but it gets there in the end.
